Exhibitions: Upcoming - Past Represent! all-year student juried drawing exhibition
Jan. 22 - Feb. 12, 2011
Grenfell Art Gallery presented its first show of 2011, Represent! All-year Student Juried Drawing Exhibition. Students of Grenfell's Visual Arts program were invited to submit drawings as defined in the broadest of terms: the art of representing objects, forms and ideas chiefly by means of lines; a work produced by this art. Twenty-six pieces were selected from a pool of sixty submissions, each representing the many directions drawing may take as an art form.
The 21 student artists featured in Represent! were Robyn Anderson, Will Baker, Lindsey Brennan, Kyle Bustin, Diana Chisholm, Rachel Elliott, Steve Evans, Amanda Goodyear, Claire Jeans, Raven Lannon, Kristy Lee, Ben Mercer, KJ Mercer, Virginia Mitford, Meagan Musseau, Wandai Mungoshi, Richard Short, Ruha Thurairatnam, Jonathan Weale, Jason Wells, and April White.
Also showing was Life: A Selection of Student Drawings from the Permanent Collection. This exhibition focused on academic life drawing from the model and demonstrates the skills of past and present drawing students at Grenfell.
